Happy Monday!

Who does this boy remind you of?

I am not sure that I captured the "look" he sometimes gives me, but I think he looks a lot like Uncle Mike. (Especially when he is doing crazy things like eating dog food as he is in these pictures.)

Spring Hiking

The neighbors are out of school for spring break. We celebrated by going hiking at the park. It was a beautiful day.

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter. We went to church, Robyn gave an excellent talk in primary, we came home and ate lots of Easter candy, and then went to Grandma Reeder's for dinner and an Easter egg hunt.
I taught the kids to sing "This is the Song that Never Ends" and "99 bottles of Rootbeer on the Wall" on the drive home. I am sure that the ability to sing those two songs are definitely skills every kid should have. I wouldn't want them to go the way of the 8 track now that we have a DVD player in the van.
Fun times were had by all.

This is a picture of the girls showcasing their new Easter bows made by Aunt Katie. She has become very talented at bow making this year. The bows she sent us are SO CUTE! Especially in my little blondies' hair.

Bears, Oh My!

Colin heard on the radio this morning that some store in the valley had bear cubs that you could pet today. He didn't know too many specifics, only that the bears were going to be there from 10:00am to something and he really wanted to go. Randy had messed up our Saturday plans by having to work anyway so I, being the wonderful mother that I am, told him to keep listening and see if he could find out more details. He thought he remembered it was in Nampa so we got in the car and started driving while listening to the radio, hoping for more details. The commercial came on again and we called Aunt Shelly for directions to the store. She told us the general area and we found it.
After standing in line for two hours, Colin got to hold a baby bear and we got our picture taken. Grace was not to sure about being that close to a bear, she's heard too many stories to trust a bear.

Caden is Nine Months old!

Time sure flies when you are not pregnant. It's amazing how much faster the second nine months go.
He is cruising all over the place and he is far too busy for napping. Never fear, my very own copy of Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child is out for delivery right now and should arrive any minute now. In the meantime, we will go for a long stroller ride. It's a good thing he is so dang cute!

Planting peas

We got the peas planted this week. Caden was very helpful. :) He thinks garden dirt is delicious!

Fairy Garden

We built a fairy garden this weekend. So Fun!

Here is a decent article on how to build a fairy garden. We added horticultural charcoal to the bottom of the saucer to keep the soil sweet. I don't think this article talks about that.

Here's a link
to fairy accessories. We bought ours at a local greenhouse. It wouldn't be hard to build some fairy accessories, if one had time and skills. Maybe next time. :)

Here is another view of the garden.

New Skills

We have been learning like crazy at our house this week. Here are a few of the very important skills that have been acquired:

Thursday - Robyn learned to walk on the stilts. (She also attempted to put her hair in pigtails all by herself - We'll keep working on that skill.)

Friday - Robyn builds a snowman all by herself! (Three inches of snow fell this morning.)

Saturday - Randy and the kids learn to build an Astro Dome.
(Robyn made another attempt at pigtails)

(I attempted to cut Randy's hair prior to the Astro Dome project, I am not ready to list it as one of my skills yet. My hair cutting abilities are close to Robyn's pig tail skills. We will keep working on them. The goose egg on his head was not from my haircut, it's from Grace's help with the Astro Dome bars. He didn't even cry, he's very brave.)

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the Christmas present!

Sunday - Randy and I learn to ride the neighbors' Ripstick - Go Us!
